There are a few things that could cause lines or streaks on your printout. The first is that the printer is low on ink. Even printing in black & white, printers sometimes use a combination of colours to make “true black”, so a nearly empty cartridge can result in poor quality, streaky images, even when printing in black & white.

The second possible cause is that the ink cartridge is damaged, perhaps the part where the ink comes out was bumped or accidentally damaged when installing the ink cartridge with too much force. Try replacing the cartridge and installing carefully to see if that helps.
